On April 11, 2012 the MHCC Board unanimously approved the creation of and funding for the AAS / Networking & CyberSecurity degree and the ISTM department. This remarkable move provides for the expansion of computer-oriented training, and creates a new pathway to support advanced technical training needed in the USA.
With the increase in security attacks around the world, there is a critical focus on the cyber vulneabilities of systems across the U.S.
MHCC is now participating in a national initiative to create cyber security education in community colleges, and is the first college in Oregon to persue this new direction.
